About Christopher Pracht
Christopher Pracht leads the firm's South Carolina work through Pracht Injury Lawyers, the Anderson-based practice he founded in 2022 after building his own firm and co-founding Thomason and Pracht. A cum laude graduate of Charleston School of Law who clerked for Judge J. Cordell Maddox, he has recovered more than $70 million in verdicts and settlements over 15 years of practice. In July 2022 he won a $20.73 million wrongful death verdict — the largest ever awarded in Horry County — and in 2023 alone he recovered over $17 million for clients across South Carolina and neighboring states.
Notable case results
Christopher Pracht, now with Alexander Shunnarah Trial Attorneys' South Carolina team, was trial counsel for the estate of Zerihun Wolde when an Horry County jury returned a $20.73 million verdict against Lack's Beach Service, the private company staffing lifeguards on the stretch of Myrtle Beach where Wolde drowned in a rip current in 2018. The South Carolina Court of Appeals unanimously affirmed the verdict in July 2025, and the case is credited with ending the dual-role lifeguarding model on Grand Strand beaches.
