About Julie Anderson

Julie Anderson has been a Colorado resident since 1989. She received her bachelor's degree in Psychology and English from William Smith College, then attended the University of Denver as a dual-degree student, studying law at the Sturm College of Law and psychology at the Graduate School of Psychology. Ms. Anderson began her private practice in plaintiff's personal injury, workers' compensation, and criminal defense, completing dozens of jury trials and litigating multiple cases through the Colorado Court of Appeals and the Colorado Supreme Court. In 1999 she was appointed magistrate for Denver County Court, presiding over civil, criminal, and juvenile matters. In 2005 she was appointed municipal judge for the City of Aurora, and in 2010 for the City of Littleton. She returned to Anderson Hemmat in a full-time capacity in 2011. Her graduate work, including her master's thesis, focused on jury selection and behavior, and she is frequently consulted on jury selection. Ms. Anderson is a former president of the Colorado Women's Bar Association, a Fellow at both the Colorado Bar Association and the Colorado Women's Bar Association, and a board member and Chair's Roundtable member of the Colorado Lawyer's Committee. She co-authored an update of the Colorado Rules of Civil Procedure with Colorado Supreme Court Justice William Hobbs.
