About Tom Blackburn

Tom Blackburn is the founding partner of Blackburn Romey. He graduated cum laude from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 1977. After serving as a deputy prosecuting attorney and a law firm partner focused on insurance defense, he shifted his practice exclusively to personal injury and wrongful death in 1985. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, the Supreme Court of the United States, and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, in addition to all Indiana state courts. He is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association's Ethics and Advertising Committees, the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, and the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, where he serves as a board member. He also serves as an appointed member of the Executive Committee for Indiana for the National Trial Lawyers Association. The National Trial Lawyers has named him one of the Top 100 trial lawyers in Indiana, Super Lawyers named him an Indiana Super Lawyer, and Martindale-Hubbell awarded him the AV Preeminent certification, a distinction held by fewer than 5 percent of lawyers. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a Top Lawyer recognized by Fort Wayne and Indianapolis Monthly Magazines, and a lifetime charter member of Best Attorneys of America under RUE ratings.
