Sheila Chavis

Sheila White Chavis is a partner at Brent Adams & Associates in North Carolina, where she has practiced since 2004 and leads the firm's workers' compensation section. She handles primarily workers' compensation cases, representing injured workers across the state.

Chavis earned her B.A. from Duke University in 1990 and an M.A. in Public Policy from Duke's Terry Sanford Institute of Public Policy in 1992. She was a fellow at the Woodrow Wilson Institute of Public Policy and International Affairs at the University of California-Berkeley.

Before practicing law, she worked as a policy analyst for the state of North Carolina in performance management and budgeting. She earned her J.D. cum laude from North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2000 while working full-time during the day.

She is admitted to practice in all North Carolina trial and appellate courts as well as the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina.
