Background

John Colan is the Senior Managing Attorney at Buckeye Law Group, where he focuses on meticulous case preparation and compelling court presentations for personal injury clients throughout Ohio. Colan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from John Carroll University before attending Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University, where he graduated with a Juris Doctorate in 2005. One of his early positions was in the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office. As an Assistant Prosecutor in the General Felony Unit, he maintained a 99.8 percent conviction rate on more than 1,000 crimes. He also gained extensive first-chair trial experience in the Major Trial Unit, where he took over 100 cases to trial with a 97 percent conviction rate. He taught Ethics and Legal Issues at a technical college from 2014 to 2016. Colan has a profound appreciation for fairness and equity, and his passion for ethics and doing right by clients drives his advocacy for plaintiffs who have been wronged. He lives on the West Side of Cleveland with his wife and son.
