Jamaal Buchanan

Jamaal R. Buchanan is an Associate Attorney at Disparti Law Group, joining the firm with a diverse background spanning criminal prosecution, civil litigation, and entertainment industry consulting. He previously served as a Cook County Prosecutor, where he tried more than 100 bench trials and several jury trials, and was personally selected as a Special Prosecutor within the Community Justice Center Division, assisting with Task Force cases in the Financial Crimes Unit. Most recently, Jamaal practiced personal injury and wrongful death law as an associate at another firm, and previously served as a Senior Attorney handling insurance defense, commercial litigation, transportation, and premises liability for major companies including FedEx and Mariano's. His earlier experience includes serving as a Senior Litigation Law Clerk at Johnnie Cochran's law firm in Los Angeles (2006-2009) and as an investigator for the State Bar of California's Office of Chief Trial Counsel. From 2010 to 2020, he founded and ran Buchanan Management & Consulting, serving as Principal Manager for more than 25 actors. He is a graduate of St. Ignatius College Prep, Bradley University (B.A. in Criminal Justice/African American Studies), and Vermont Law School (J.D.).
