He has served as lead appellate counsel in approximately 100 appeals. Hund earned his Juris Doctor cum laude from Baylor University Law School in 1983, where he was an Associate Editor of the Law Review and a member of the Board of Barristers. He attended Texas Christian University from 1977 to 1980. He served as an Adjunct Professor at Texas Tech School of Law from 1991 to 1993. His honors include Texas Super Lawyer (2003-2020 and 2024), the 1988 Lubbock Outstanding Young Lawyer, the 1990 Outstanding Director of the Texas Young Lawyers Association, the 1999 State Bar of Texas President's Award, election as a 2005 Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, designation as a Life Sustaining Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, and an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
