About Sherrell Dandy

Sherrell L. Dandy spent most of her career fighting for victims as a state and federal prosecutor. A Philadelphia native, Dandy began her work at the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office where she held several positions, including assistant supervisor of more than 30 attorneys in the Homicide and Non-Fatal Shooting Unit. She investigated and approved homicide-related search warrants and charges using forensic evidence, forensic cell phone and data collection, and other investigative tools. Dandy tried approximately 50 major felony and homicide jury trials during her eight years at the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office. Dandy joined the U.S. Attorney's Office in Roanoke, Virginia, as assistant U.S. attorney in 2017, where she led investigations and prosecuted various crimes. In late 2023, Dandy served as co-counsel in litigation resulting in a $6.5 million settlement with Northeast Treatment Centers regarding the beating death of a three-year-old child improperly placed in a household where a resident had a history of aggravated assault. In 2022, Dandy was named to the Pennsylvania Forty Under 40 by City & State Pennsylvania, recognized as an "up-and-comer" working to improve citizens' lives in the commonwealth. Beyond her prosecution work, Dandy worked with a professional liability defense group at a private law firm and published "Telemedicine and the Potential for Liability" in Family Practice News in February 2015. Immediately prior to joining Kline & Specter, she defended auto and premises liability cases for a major insurer. Dandy earned her bachelor's degree from Ursinus College and her law degree from the Thomas R. Kline School of Law at Drexel University, where she was a member of the Inaugural National Trial Team and the first student to serve on both the National Trial Team and National Moot Court Board. She received the Best Trial Advocacy Student Performance Award, Best Oralist Award at the John J. Gibbons National Moot Court Competition, Moot Court Best Oral Advocate Award, Pro-Bono Service Award, and the Kline & Specter Trial Advocacy Award. Dandy teaches Introduction to Trial Advocacy as an adjunct professor at Kline Law. She is an elected executive board member of the Barristers' Association of Philadelphia and leads a community development ministry at Epiphany Fellowship Church.
