About Haley Broughton
Haley Broughton is an Associate Attorney at Mary Alexander & Associates, P.C., bringing a background in consumer protection, technology law, and public policy to her personal injury practice. She earned her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, where she received certifications in Law and Technology and in Consumer Law and Economic Justice. During law school she was involved in the Coalition of Minorities in Technology Law, Women in Technology Law, and the Native American Law Students Association, and served as Podcast Editor for the Berkeley Technology Law Journal. Before joining the firm, she served as the Christopher M. Patti Legal Fellow with the University of California Office of the President, researching and drafting memos, briefs, and legal advisories on litigation, settlement, and statutory analysis. She also worked at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in Washington, D.C., supporting enforcement actions under the Equal Credit Opportunity Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and served as a research assistant to Dean Erwin Chemerinsky on constitutional law and U.S. Supreme Court jurisprudence. Prior to law school she worked as a Junior Multimedia Producer at EURACTIV in Brussels and as a reporter and producer at KBIA, an NPR-affiliate station in Missouri.
