Laura Zois

Laura G. Zois earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee in 1991 and graduated with honors from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1995. Early in her career she defended insurance companies and corporations; she now uses that defense experience exclusively to represent injured victims, focusing on sex abuse, birth injuries, catastrophic injuries, and wrongful deaths. She has secured numerous multimillion-dollar settlements and verdicts, including a $10 million verdict for a wrongful death and survival action in a medical malpractice case and an $8 million verdict for a mother in a wrongful death case involving a commercial vehicle. In 2022 she received the Trial Lawyer of the Year award for a $2 million verdict in a sex abuse lawsuit against a medical provider. She is a member of the Inner Circle of Advocates (limited to 100 of the nation's top trial lawyers), a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers (top 1% in each state), and a member of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. She has testified before Maryland lawmakers on issues including contributory negligence, caps on non-economic damages, and jury selection, and serves on the advisory board for the Supreme Court of Maryland's Pilot Program on Expanded Voir Dire. She has been recognized as a Maryland Super Lawyer annually since 2008 and was named one of the Top 10 Lawyers in Maryland in 2024 and 2025.
