About John Kinney
John J. Kinney III was raised in Sacramento and homeschooled through grade 12. He attended the California Maritime Academy, where he majored in Global Studies and Maritime Affairs (summa cum laude) and sailed the Pacific Rim aboard the Training Ship Golden Bear. He then earned his J.D. magna cum laude from Liberty University School of Law with a certificate in trial advocacy, competing nationally on the law school's mock trial team and winning the Carolina Invitational Mock Trial Tournament in 2013. He also participated in the prosecution clinic, handling domestic violence, DUI, and animal cruelty cases. John interned at Moseley Collins Law between his first and second years of law school and joined the firm as an associate attorney after passing the California bar exam on his first attempt. He handles personal injury and medical malpractice cases in state and federal court across California, Washington, and Oregon, working on discovery, motion practice, mediation, arbitration, and trial. He is licensed in California, Washington, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, the 9th Circuit, and Oregon.
