McGrath graduated from Fordham University and earned his law degree from Villanova University School of Law. During law school, he interned for the Montgomery County Public Defender Office and the Honorable Mark I. Bernstein in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. He is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the District of New Jersey, the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
