About Matthew Barber
Matt focuses his practice on motions and appeals, which covers all aspects of personal injury litigation. He has won significant motions related to car, truck, and motorcycle crashes, and general liability cases. He has argued several cases before the Minnesota Supreme Court and several more before the Minnesota Court of Appeals. Matt was acknowledged by these courts in 2022 when he was appointed to the Advisory Committee for the Rules of Civil Appellate Procedure. Matt has been with Schwebel, Goetz & Sieben since 2008. He worked as a law clerk before graduating cum laude from the University of North Dakota School of Law and received his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of St. Thomas. In 2025, Matt was promoted to shareholder status. Matt practices personal injury law for two main reasons: First, to help people who are experiencing loses that many cannot imagine. Second, to level the playing field so that individuals also receive access to exceptional legal representation.
