Benjamin R. Zimmermann is a trial attorney whose 25-year practice has produced some of the largest personal injury verdicts in Massachusetts, including seven- and eight-figure verdicts in medical malpractice, construction site, defective products, motor vehicle, and airline negligence cases. In one year alone, Ben obtained two of the largest personal injury and wrongful death jury verdicts in Massachusetts, including a $20.6 million wrongful death verdict against Toys "R" Us for a defective pool slide, upheld by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court in Aleo v. Toys "R" Us, Inc. He and his partner David McCormack obtained a $30.55 million medical malpractice verdict for the family of a child injured at birth, among the largest such verdicts in Massachusetts history. Ben has been named Top 10 Massachusetts Super Lawyers for 2025 and is a Fellow of both the American College of Trial Lawyers and International Academy of Trial Lawyers. In 2025 he was selected to Lawdragon's 500 Leading Plaintiff Consumer Lawyers. He joined SUGARMAN as an associate in 2000 after practicing briefly in New York, and became a Principal in 2007. He has served as Co-Managing Partner since 2013.
