About Wayne Hogan

Wayne Hogan, a Jacksonville native, has been a member of Terrell Hogan Law since 1977. A graduate of Florida State University, where he earned his B.A. (1969) and J.D. with High Honors (1972), Wayne is a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer with certifications from both the National and Florida Boards of Certification. He has spent decades holding corporations accountable for harm caused by defective and dangerous products, securing punitive damage verdicts in 26 cases against manufacturers of defective products. Wayne played a key role in landmark tobacco litigation, helping secure a $17 billion settlement for Florida taxpayers against cigarette manufacturers. He successfully argued Johns-Manville Sales Corp. v. Janssens, establishing plaintiffs' rights to punitive damages in asbestos cases, and Celotex Corp. v. Pickett, establishing that a successor company could be held liable for its predecessor's reckless conduct. Since 1992, Wayne has partnered with FSU College of Law on the Donald J. Weidner Summer for Undergraduates Program, a nationally recognized pipeline diversity initiative.
