About Tony Buzbee

Tony Buzbee is a former Recon Marine officer whose military background shapes his approach to litigation: comprehensive preparation and aggressive execution. After earning an ROTC scholarship, Buzbee attended Texas A&M University, where he served as Battalion Commander in the Corps of Cadets and graduated as a Distinguished Naval Graduate and Distinguished Student. He then served as a Marine Corps infantry officer in the Persian Gulf and Somalian conflicts, ultimately reaching the rank of Captain and earning the Navy Commendation Medal. After leaving the Marine Corps, Buzbee enrolled at the University of Houston Law Center, where he served as managing editor of the Houston Law Review, was elected Class Captain by his peers, and graduated summa cum laude, second in his class. He clerked for a federal district judge in the Southern District of Texas, Galveston Division, then worked at a prestigious litigation boutique before founding his own firm. Tony Buzbee has been named a Texas Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters from 2004 through 2026, was named Texas Lawyer's Attorney of the Year in 2015, was inducted into the National Law Journal's Verdicts Hall of Fame in 2020, and was named a 2021 Plaintiffs' Lawyer Trailblazer by The National Law Journal. The New York Times Magazine described him as one of the most successful trial lawyers in the country.
