About Tim Whaley
Tim Whaley represents clients throughout Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia with a focus on catastrophic personal injury, including negligent security, fires, vehicle and trucking collisions, medical malpractice, product liability, gas explosions, and police misconduct. He has handled dozens of cases involving wrongful death, paralysis, loss of limb, and brain injury. After clerking at The Cochran Firm, Tim began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney for Miami-Dade County, Florida, where he tried more than 40 jury trials on charges ranging from misdemeanors to attempted murder and DUI manslaughter. He was a member of the Traffic Homicide Unit and received a Prosecution Award of Honor from Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). He then became a partner at a South Florida civil litigation firm handling negligent security, construction defect, premises liability, and motor vehicle cases. He earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington DC and his B.A. in economics and journalism from Gonzaga University. He and his wife reside in Northern Virginia.
