David J. Colleran

David J. Colleran was born and raised in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area and attended college at Villanova University. He received his Juris Doctor from The Villanova University School of Law, after which he clerked in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania for The Honorable John P. Fullam. Since entering private practice in 2000, David has spent his entire career representing injured individuals in state and federal Courts throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. David remains licensed to practice law in both states. From initial case intake through the appellate process, David is extremely well-versed in all aspects personal injury litigation. As a lead trial lawyer, he has tried dozens of complex cases to verdict on behalf of injured plaintiffs, in addition to successfully resolving hundreds of others by way of Alternative Dispute Resolution or settlement. David has also successfully defended his verdicts and other complex legal issues in the appellate Courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as in the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. After spending 18 years in his family law firm, David worked with several other major Philadelphia plaintiffs’ law firms in the Philadelphia area before joining Thompson Law LLP in July 2026. David and his wife Shelagh continue to reside in the Philadelphia area and have three adult children.
