About Demet Basar
Demet Basar joined Beasley Allen in 2020 with more than 30 years of experience handling complex class action lawsuits. She focuses on high-stakes litigation involving unfair and deceptive business practices, false advertising, and defective products. Demet played a key role in the successful prosecution and settlement of the Denso defective fuel pump litigations, including as co-class counsel in the Toyota-Denso case, in which she achieved a $287 million settlement. She began her career as a paralegal at The Legal Aid Society in New York City before becoming a lawyer, and is a member of the American Bar Association and the New York City Bar Association.
