About Patrick Biggam
Patrick Biggam is a founding partner of Biggam Fox Skinner and has practiced law in Vermont since 1979. He earned his B.A. from Georgetown University in 1969 and his J.D. cum laude from Vermont Law School in 1979. Before law, he worked as a schoolteacher, hospital aide, factory worker, construction laborer, and farm hand, giving him direct familiarity with the hazards workers face in those settings. He describes his approach in three stages: listening to understand the client's needs, providing legal advice based on experience and law, then acting as an advocate to pursue what the client is entitled to. A notable legal matter involved a client whose workers' compensation vocational rehabilitation was denied under a narrow agency interpretation; Biggam took the case to the Vermont Supreme Court. He served as president of the Vermont Association for Justice and worked closely with the Vermont legislature on improvements to workers' compensation and personal injury laws. He is recognized by Best Lawyers and Super Lawyers.
