About Michael Livingston
Michael K. Livingston joined the Honolulu firm then known as Davis and Levin in 1986, after serving as Mountain States Regional Counsel for the American Civil Liberties Union in the late 1970s and coaching rowing at intercollegiate and international levels. He became a partner in 1990, and the firm was renamed to include his name in 1996. Mr. Livingston specializes in litigation with a focus on medical negligence, major personal injuries, substantial commercial disputes, insurance bad faith, and civil liberties violations. He has also taught as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Hawaii's William S. Richardson School of Law. He has been named Hawaii's Lawyer of the Year in plaintiffs' medical malpractice litigation in 2013, 2017, 2019, 2022, and 2024, and in plaintiffs' personal injury litigation in 2016, 2018, and 2024.
