About Thomas J. Michel
Thomas Michel was born and raised in Sutter Creek, an hour east of Sacramento within the Sierra Foothills. Following high school, he attended the University of Richmond in Virginia where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics, minoring in History. In 2022, Thomas began his coursework at the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law as a full-time student. During his last year at McGeorge, Thomas also worked as the assistant to the Franchise Tax Board's Tax Appeals Assistance Program (TAAP). At TAAP, Thomas represented taxpayers in their cases against the state. Helping people through their complex tax issues is how Thomas found his passion as an advocate. Thomas graduated from McGeorge School of Law with Distinction in 2025. Shortly after passing the California State Bar, Thomas proudly accepted an associate attorney position at our firm. In his spare time, Thomas can usually be found in his hometown at his family's inn. When he's there, he does renovation work, reads in the gardens, and spends time with his niece and nephew. <div
