About David Hastings
David G. Hastings founded Hastings and Hastings in 1981 and continues to practice today out of the firm's Chandler office. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting and Economics from the University of Arizona, then graduated from the University of Arizona's James E. Rogers College of Law with distinction. He sponsors a yearly scholarship for a deserving law student at the College of Law and is also the inaugural sponsor of a Bachelor of Laws undergraduate scholarship at the University of Arizona, the first program of its kind in the country. He was admitted to practice by the State Bar of Arizona in 1979 and is licensed in the United States Federal District Court of Arizona. He is a past Sustaining Member of the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association (now the Arizona Association for Justice). Mr. Hastings began his career at Gust Rosenfeld, then the oldest law firm in Arizona, representing major insurance companies, before switching to plaintiff-side personal injury work in 1981. In 1993, the Arizona Business Gazette dubbed him 'The Discounting King' for pioneering a lower contingency fee model for accident victims. He and his family support Special Olympics Arizona, Phoenix Children's Hospital Down Syndrome Clinic, Down Syndrome Network Arizona, The Salvation Army, St. Vincent De Paul, and 1Mission.
