Background
D. Shawn Stevens, Esq. is an Associate Attorney at Herrman & Herrman, P.L.L.C., a Dallas-based personal injury trial lawyer with more than 20 years of litigation experience. He has built a reputation for proven results, courtroom skill, and unwavering advocacy for injury victims across Texas. Stevens has extensive trial practice with numerous plaintiff verdicts, has conducted hundreds of depositions and mediations, and has secured seven-figure settlements in complex injury cases. His experience also includes medical malpractice, business disputes, and consumer fraud litigation. His commitment to representing injury victims is rooted in his own experience: he was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident caused by a drunk driver while in college. Stevens is a Director Emeritus of the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association and a former Board Member and Executive Committee Member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association. He has also served as a legislative advocate for the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, a former Legislative Assistant in the Texas House of Representatives, and a volunteer voter protection attorney and election judge. He received the Outstanding Sole Practitioner award from the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program and was recognized as a 'Cyberhero' by the Austin Chronicle for public accessibility initiatives. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center in 2001, where he was a Moot Court and Mock Trial competitor, served as Judicial Extern at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, and co-founded the Cyberlaw Society. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy (with a minor in Political Science) from Texas A&M University in 1994. He is admitted to the State Bar of Texas.
