About Patrick Cooper
Pat Cooper graduated from Creighton University in 1999 and from Creighton University School of Law in 2002. After clerking for federal judge Hon. Lyle Strom of the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska for two years, Pat joined a large Omaha law firm where he practiced civil litigation for nearly 20 years. Since joining Inserra Kelley Cooper Sewell, his practice has focused on personal injury litigation for injured parties. Pat has significant trial experience in both state and federal court. In 2023 he obtained three multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements, including a $5.8 million jury verdict after an 11-day trial, an $8.4 million judgment after a three-day trial, and a $1.9 million judgment from a settlement. He is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell, has been selected as a Great Plains Super Lawyer for more than ten consecutive years, and is listed in Best Lawyers in the areas of Litigation, Insurance Law, and Appellate Work. Best Lawyers recognized him as the Litigation-Insurance Lawyer of the Year in Nebraska for both 2022 and 2024, and the Nebraska State Bar Foundation gave him its Distinguished Service Award in 2023. Pat is a past president of the Omaha Bar Association, a Fellow in both the Nebraska State Bar Foundation and the American Bar Foundation, and a past chair of the Nebraska State Bar Association Professional Enhancement Committee. He served as an adjunct professor at Creighton Law School teaching trial practice and coached high school mock trial teams for nine years, including one national championship team and eight state championship teams.
