About Leslie Vasquez Rodriguez
Leslie Vasquez Rodriguez was born and raised in Weslaco, Texas. She graduated summa cum laude from St. Mary's University in December 2007 with a B.A. in English and Communication Studies, then earned her J.D. from St. Mary's University School of Law in 2014. At law school she competed on the external advocacy national mock trial team and was admitted into the Order of the Barristers, and received the Judge Jack B. Miller Award for Dedication, Integrity, and Professionalism. After graduation she joined the Bexar County District Attorney's Office as an Assistant District Attorney, where she was promoted into a felony prosecutor supervisory role and later to the Major Crimes Division, trying and supervising more than 30 jury trials to verdict. She subsequently practiced insurance defense litigation in auto and commercial vehicle cases in state and federal court. She serves on the Board of Directors of the St. Mary's University School of Law Alumni Association, the San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association, the Bexar County Women's Bar Association, and the Hispanic Law Alumni Association, where she is a past president. She is also adjunct faculty at St. Mary's University School of Law in the Advocacy Program.
