About Samuel R. Barnett
Samuel Barnett represents a wide variety of clients in personal injury matters. As a personal injury lawyer he has been honored by Kansas/Missouri Super Lawyers as a 'Rising Star' and completed the Ross T. Roberts Trial Academy from the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association. Sam has served as lead counsel for personal injury, nursing home abuse, medical negligence, bad faith, and workers compensation cases. As part of the Midwest Innocence Project, he served as outside counsel on several issues and collaborated with other lawyers in a case that resulted in a client's exoneration, also drafting and filing a federal habeas petition that resulted in another client's exoneration. He also worked with a Missouri State Senator to draft new statutory language for a Senate Bill relating to pardon and expungement reform. A proud law graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Sam is involved in Big Brothers/Big Sisters as a mentor and coaches ice hockey in the Kansas City area.
