About Channing Dutton
Channing L. Dutton has represented injured workers and accident victims in Iowa since 1980. He has lectured before attorney groups statewide on a wide range of topics in workers' compensation and personal injury law. Beyond his litigation practice, Channing has spent years writing and speaking throughout Iowa about climate change impacts, appearing before civic groups, city governments, school boards, and state agencies. He represented future generations in the Filippone environmental case (Filippone ex rel. Filippone v. Iowa Dept of Nat. Res., 829 N.W.2d 589 (Iowa Ct. App. 2013)) and handled 2019 water quality litigation in Polk County. In 2019, Washington Governor Jay Inslee publicly recognized Channing's 15-year advocacy on climate issues at the Iowa State Fair. Channing received his J.D. from Drake University Law School in 1979 and his B.A. in English from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1977.
