Loyd Bourgeois

Loyd J. Bourgeois is a native Louisianian who grew up in Bayou Gauche, a small community in St. Charles Parish. He earned a Bachelor of Science in engineering from Louisiana State University before switching course and graduating cum laude from Tulane University School of Law. After earning his law degree he built experience in personal injury and disability law, then opened his own firm in Luling in September 2010. His decision to enter law was shaped by a personal experience fighting an insurance company that wrongfully denied long-term disability benefits to a seriously ill relative. Since founding the firm, he has focused on helping everyday people in southeast Louisiana stand up to insurance companies after serious accidents and injuries. He has authored two legal guides for injury and disability claimants, serves on the Finance Committee and Board of Directors of the United Way of St. Charles, and is active with the St. Charles Parish Rotary Club. He has been recognized repeatedly by Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers, and New Orleans CityBusiness Leadership in Law, and holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
