Katie Curry

Katie Curry went to law school to make a difference and found her home at McGinn Montoya Love Curry & Sievers during her second year of law school. She has represented survivors of sexual assault in cases holding corporations liable for enabling serial predators, families of bystanders killed in police pursuits, and victims of wrongful police shootings. Her case results have produced concrete policy changes: a requirement for a second health care worker during breast or genital exams in New Mexico prisons, annual emergency-department airway-obstruction training at a hospital, and nursing-home notification policies. She served eight years on the New Mexico Supreme Court Civil Uniform Jury Instruction Committee, including two years as chair. She co-chairs the New Mexico Trial Lawyers continuing education committee and participated in the effort to pass New Mexico's Civil Rights Act. She graduated Order of the Coif from UNM Law, holds a Bachelor's in French and a Bachelor's in Journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and has been recognized by Super Lawyers since 2019 and Best Lawyers in America since 2018.
