Herschel Gelber

Herschel Gelber joined Richmond Vona in 2023. He is a seasoned trial lawyer who, for more than 40 years, has been dedicated to excellence in the practice of law, drawing on experience as both a plaintiff's attorney and former defense attorney to achieve million and multi-million dollar recoveries for his clients. He began his career in New York City defending major corporations, doctors, commercial property owners, and insurers in motor vehicle, product liability, malpractice, and construction site accident litigation. In 1987 he relocated to Buffalo, joining Gross, Shuman, Brizdle and Gilfillian, P.C., where he prosecuted major lawsuits on behalf of injured victims as both associate and partner. He went on to co-found the law firm of Frank R. Bayger, P.C. with a former New York State Supreme Court Justice, later merging with Lipsitz Green, and then founding his own firm Gelber & O'Connell, LLC. Best Lawyers in America has recognized him in both Personal Injury Litigation and Product Liability Litigation every year from 2013 to 2024, and New York State Super Lawyers has listed him from 2011 through 2026.
