About Donavon McGuire

Donavon McGuire was born and raised in Selma, Alabama. He earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Auburn University at Montgomery and his J.D. from Thomas Goode Jones School of Law, where he served as Vice President and then President of the Black Law Students Association (Ernestine Sapp Chapter), leading it to back-to-back Regional Chapter of the Year and National Chapter of the Year honors. He also won the Best Advocate Award in the Greg Allen Mock Trial Competition. After law school, Donavon worked at Legal Services Alabama representing low-income clients, then served as an Assistant District Attorney for Alabama's 4th Judicial Circuit, and later joined a Montgomery defense firm handling personal injury litigation. He currently serves as Municipal Judge for the City of Selma and as Vice President of the Black Belt Bar Association. At Serious Injury Law Group he concentrates on car accidents, commercial trucking accidents, catastrophic injuries, and medical malpractice.
