Randall Smith

Randall Smith is Of Counsel to Shaheen and Gordon's Portland, Maine office and has earned a national reputation in medical malpractice and personal injury trial law. He earned his B.A. and J.D. from the University of Iowa (1968 and 1971). His practice has included cases involving birth injuries, surgical errors, nursing home negligence, anesthesia errors, medication mistakes, misdiagnoses, and defective products including heart valves, pacemakers, diving boards, automobile seat backs, airbags, prosthetic joints, and pharmaceuticals. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and a member of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, which is limited to the top 500 trial lawyers in the United States. He served as President of the Maine Trial Lawyers Association in 2014 to 2015. He has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America since 2011 and has been named Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers for Portland ME in 2015, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2024.
