About Jason Williams
Jason R. Williams is an attorney at Smith LaCien LLP, concentrating in catastrophic personal injury, medical malpractice, and wrongful death. He joined the firm in December 2021 after eight years as a solo practitioner at J.R. Williams Law LLC, where he litigated cases at the trial and appellate levels involving complex computer matters, medical malpractice, healthcare, antitrust, commercial work, and trusts and estates. Before private practice, Jason served in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne Division from 1993 to 1997, was deployed overseas from Fort Bragg, and received an Army Achievement Medal and a Parachutist Badge. He then earned a B.A. in International Studies from DePaul University and a J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he was on the Dean's List. He interned at the U.S. Department of Justice's U.S. Attorney's Office, Northern District of Illinois, and its Antitrust Division, Chicago Field Office, and served as a judicial extern for U.S. Magistrate Judge Thomas Rosemond. Among his results as a solo practitioner, he won summary judgment in federal court against a national title insurance company and obtained settlements for 17 governmental entities under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.
