About Mo Hamoudi

Mo Hamoudi is Irani-Iraqi and grew up in Tehran during the Iran-Iraq War, leaving with his family as refugees when his mother feared he would be conscripted. They arrived in the United States with a hundred dollars and two suitcases, settling in northern California. He later studied arts in New York at The New School, earning a Master of Fine Arts in Poetry and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts before attending John F. Kennedy University School of Law, where he earned his J.D. in 2010. He served as a Federal Public Defender before joining Stritmatter Law in 2024, where he was promoted to partner. He practices civil rights and complex tort litigation, representing individuals against institutions, and co-hosts The Velvet Hammer Podcast with Karen Koehler.
