About Mauricio Guevara
Mauricio Guevara was born in Cali, Colombia and immigrated at a young age, first to New Jersey and then to Texas, growing up in Houston's diverse Alief area. He attended the University of St. Thomas in Houston before gaining practical experience at a small law office and then a prominent plaintiff's firm in Houston, where he developed a strong interest in legal technology and legal analytics. He pursued that interest at the Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago-Kent College of Law, an institution that integrates science, technology, and legal education. At Chicago-Kent, Mauricio blended his passion for legal technology and trial advocacy and was one of a small group of students invited to join the school's nationally recognized trial advocacy team. He also served as a legal extern at the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement Office of the Chief Counsel in Chicago. Mauricio is a member of the State Bar of Texas Computer and Technology Section and the International Legal Technology Association, and speaks Spanish and Italian.
