About Robert Cartwright
Robert E. Cartwright Jr. has practiced personal injury law since graduating from Golden Gate University School of Law in 1982, beginning his career at his father's firm before founding the current practice in 1996. He handles personal injury, products liability, auto accidents, wrongful death, premises liability, toxic torts, and Jones Act matters. He served as lead counsel on Vioxx litigation in California and as a member of the national Plaintiff's Steering Committee, helping secure a $4.85 billion settlement on behalf of roughly 20,000 injured plaintiffs. He has been named a Northern California Super Lawyer for 14 consecutive years, was a five-time finalist for Trial Lawyer of the Year through the National Trial Lawyers, received the Presidential Award of Merit from Consumer Attorneys of California in 2001, and was awarded the 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award from the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association. He has held board positions with the Consumer Attorneys of California, the American Association for Justice, and the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association, where he has served as President.
