About Larry Williams

Larry R. Williams is the founder of The Williams Firm and has practiced personal injury law, Social Security disability, business, probate, and real estate law in Nashville for more than 40 years. He received his B.S. from Middle Tennessee State University and his law degree from Nashville School of Law in 1974, where he attended classes at night while teaching at Nolensville Elementary School. Larry served as an instructor at Nashville School of Law for 22 years, teaching Local Government and Evidence, and is currently an Emeritus Faculty member. In 2017 the school honored him as a Distinguished Alumni.

He is a former First Vice-President of the Nashville Bar Association Board of Directors, a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association, a Sustaining Member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and was certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy from 1996 to 2006. He is admitted to practice in all courts of record in Davidson County, including the Tennessee Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. After suffering a stroke in 2000, Larry stepped back from direct case handling but continues to support the firm's attorneys with trial strategy, preparation, and negotiation guidance built on four decades of courtroom experience.
