About Edward Smith
Edward A. Smith is a New York native who served in the U.S. Air Force, including an Airborne flight unit from 1969 to 1970, before pursuing a legal career in California. He earned a B.A. from the University of California, Davis (Summa Cum Laude, 1974) and a J.D. from McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific (1982). Upon admission to the California State Bar in 1982 (Bar No. 105263), he immediately opened the Law Offices of Edward A. Smith and has practiced personal injury law exclusively ever since, with no time spent in insurance defense. Over more than four decades, he has handled car, motorcycle, truck, and pedestrian accidents, wrongful death, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, dog bites, and complex surgical injury cases throughout California. He holds an Avvo Rating of 10.0 (Superb), is a member of the Million Dollar Forum (since 2018), was named to the National Association of Distinguished Counsel Nation's Top 1% (2017), Sacramento Magazine Top Lawyers (2016), and received the Litigator Award from the Trial Lawyers Board of Regents (2014).
