About Cole Portis

Cole Portis joined Beasley Allen in 1991 and leads the Personal Injury and Product Liability Section. His practice focuses on representing families facing catastrophic loss, including wrongful death and product defect cases. Cole is a past president of the Alabama State Bar, Montgomery County Bar Association, Alabama Young Lawyers Association, and Montgomery County Trial Lawyers Association. He and his wife Joy have twelve children, nine of whom are adopted, and they served as foster parents for fourteen years. Cole earned his B.A. from Auburn University in 1986 and his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1990.
