Background

John S. Berry Jr. is an attorney at Berry Law in Nebraska, the firm founded by his father in 1965. His practice covers state and federal criminal defense, personal injury, white-collar crime, and veterans disability benefits and appeals. A U.S. Army veteran, Berry was commissioned as an infantry officer and completed Airborne School and Ranger School. In 1999, he deployed to Bosnia for Operation Joint Forge while assigned to the First Cavalry Division. He served as a Company Commander in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom and finished his military career as a Battalion Commander in the National Guard. He earned his B.A. from the College of William & Mary in 1997 and his Juris Doctor cum laude from Creighton University School of Law in 2003. He is also a graduate of the National Criminal Defense College at Mercer Law School in Macon, Georgia (2004) and the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College at Thunderhead Ranch (2018). Berry has been recognized in the National Trial Lawyers Top 100 for ten consecutive years.
