
About Emerald Lucas
Emerald Lucas is a first-generation college and law school graduate from Southern California. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from California State University Northridge and, after working at a Los Angeles nonprofit focused on housing the homeless, attended Howard University School of Law in Washington, D.C., where she focused on the intersection of technology and law. While in law school, Emerald served two terms as a Vernon E. Jordan Jr. Fellow at an international law firm, interned at the Department of Commerce's Commercial Law Development Program, and was an ACLU of Nevada First Amendment Fellow. In her final year she served as a Dean's Fellow teaching first-year students legal writing. After graduating in 2024, Emerald completed a clerkship with Judge Joseph Hardy Jr. at the Eighth Judicial District Court in Las Vegas before joining Bighorn Law.
