About Tom Byrnes
Tom Byrnes is a trial lawyer with over 20 years of experience specializing in complex trials and investigations. His practice focuses on representing victims and their families in civil litigation, including catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases. As a trial prosecutor, he developed expertise across homicides, sexual assaults, drug trafficking, and financial crimes. He served as Assistant District Attorney for the 18th Judicial District Attorney's Office, leading trial teams and managing day-to-day operations for an office of over 250 employees in Colorado's largest district. Tom is a U.S. Navy and Iraq War veteran who served on active duty in the JAG Corps as a Staff Judge Advocate, defense counsel, Special Assistant United States Attorney, and prosecutor. He continues to serve as a Captain in the U.S. Navy Reserves and is a certified military judge. Tom earned his bachelor's degree in Political Science and Spanish from Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio, and his J.D. from Ave Maria School of Law in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
