Acker earned his Juris Doctor from the American University Washington College of Law in 2010 and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan in 2006. He is admitted to the State Bar of Michigan (2010). Acker is a second-generation Goodman Acker attorney. Prior to law, he served as communications assistant for the Michigan Democratic Party (2006) and as attorney-advisor to Secretary Janet Napolitano at the Department of Homeland Security (2011).
