About Monroe Thornton III

Monroe Thornton, III focuses his practice on representing victims of medical malpractice and catastrophic injuries. This experience inspired Monroe to fight for justice for those whose voices too often go unheard. Upon graduating summa cum laude from Savannah State University, he was selected as one of two students to receive the President's Second Mile Award. At Cumberland School of Law, he was named to the Dean's List, competed on Cumberland's nationally ranked trial team, and was elected Vice President of the Black Law Student Association. Monroe graduated in 2023 and joined Hare Wynn to channel his passion into his practice. For him, the stakes are deeply personal: he is driven by the knowledge that these injuries forever change his clients' lives, and his work gives them the opportunity to rebuild and move forward. He is also the founder of the annual Thornton Scholarship, which provides financial support to rising sophomores and juniors at his alma mater, Savannah State University.
