Carma Locklear Henson is a partner at Henson Fuerst, Attorneys at Law in North Carolina, where she has practiced since 1999. Her practice focuses on nursing home abuse and neglect cases, advocating for vulnerable elderly populations against large corporations. She practices alongside her husband David Henson, her brother-in-law Thomas Henson Jr., and Rachel Fuerst. Carma is the first Lumbee to lead the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, where she serves as President. She grew up in Pembroke and Wake County and attended St. Mary's School. She earned her B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 1999, passing the bar exam and being admitted that same year. She currently serves as Chair of the Nursing Home Litigation Group for the American Association for Justice (AAJ) and as President of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. She has been selected to Super Lawyers from 2020 to 2025.
