Danielle Downey

Danielle Downey is an attorney at Horwitz, Horwitz & Associates who joined in 2024 and focuses on medical malpractice and nursing home negligence. She earned a B.A. in Psychology and Social Work from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and then her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law (May 2020), earning the public interest fellowship and CALI awards in Litigation Strategies. She was sworn into the Illinois Bar in 2021 and gained experience at another prominent Chicago plaintiff personal injury firm before joining Horwitz, Horwitz & Associates. In approximately four years of litigation, she has secured more than $14 million for her clients, including settlements of $950,000 in a nursing home failure-to-diagnose appendicitis case and $700,000 in a nursing home pressure injury matter.
