About Joanna Orscheln
Joanna Orscheln is a Partner at Krause & Kinsman with extensive trial experience across criminal and civil litigation. She began her career as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Jackson County, Missouri, working in the Special Victims Unit where she tried numerous jury trials involving murder, assault, rape, and child molestation. She then spent over five years as a civil defense attorney representing clients in trucking, insurance, recreational transportation, retail, engineering, railroad, and propane industries. At Krause & Kinsman, Joanna's practice focuses on personal injury and mass tort cases, and she has tried more than a dozen jury trials in federal and state courts across the country. In 2024 she received the Decade Award from UMKC for outstanding contribution to the legal profession within her first ten years of practice. She was recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America in 2022, and by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in Missouri and Kansas in 2023 and 2024. Joanna earned her J.D. from UMKC, where she was on the Dean's List and served as an elected class representative of the Student Bar Association, and her undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
