About Duane Lillehaug

Duane A. Lillehaug practices personal injury, wrongful death, and insurance coverage disputes in both Minnesota and North Dakota. He is one of a select group of attorneys in North Dakota certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Duane grew up in rural Adams County, North Dakota, and earned his B.A. from North Dakota State University in Fargo in 1971. He graduated with distinction from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 1975, then served one year as a law clerk to the North Dakota Supreme Court before entering private practice. For more than 40 years, his work has focused on trial law in North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota. He has served as President of the Minnesota Association for Justice, President of the Ronald N. Davies Inn of Court, and as a member of the Civil Trial Certification Council of the Minnesota State Bar Association. Outside the courtroom, he is a past Chair of the Minn-kota Chapter of the American Red Cross and has served on its national Midwest/North Central Regional Committee. Benchmark Litigation lists him as a Litigation Star; Best Lawyers in America includes him in the personal injury plaintiffs and product liability plaintiffs categories; and Thomson-Reuters named him a Great Plains Super Lawyer.
