Terence Coates

Terry Coates, the firm's managing partner, focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, class action litigation, and sports and entertainment law. He is Ohio's leading data privacy class action attorney for plaintiffs, having participated as counsel in over 100 data privacy class actions across state and federal courts nationwide. Terry is frequently appointed class counsel in data privacy and consumer protection class actions. His settlements include a $12.225 million data privacy class action (Advocate Aurora Health), an $8.9 million settlement (Tracy v. Elekta), and numerous others ranging from $700,000 to over $8 million. In consumer protection class actions, he obtained settlements of $4.25 million and $3.65 million against treadmill manufacturers. He also served as special counsel for the State of Ohio in actions against Monsanto ($80 million settlement in 2022) and DuPont ($110 million settlement in 2023).
